Television host, magazine editor, home furnishings designer, interior designer, author, international design authority – Joe Ruggiero is all of these things and more as he continues a career that has influenced the way people think about their living environments and how they design and decorate their homes. One of the most important sources of Ruggiero’s international design influence has been his career in the media, first as editor and chief of Home magazine, and as host and executive producer of “Homes Across America” and “World of Design.” Ruggiero is credited with being the first to bring home design programming to television. His media credits also include service as chief design consultant to the PBS award-winning series “This Old House,” and design correspondent on ABC TV’s “Good Morning America.” Ruggiero, who has appeared on television with Oprah and with Regis Philben, is the author of a design and source book, “Found Objects."
